A 23-year-old man says he was attacked on a New York City train on Wednesday night after being called a gay slur.

Urena Morel Frankelly says he was on a No. 2 southbound train when a woman with a group of other women and one man began taking pictures of him and his partner eating.

When Frankelly asked the woman why she was taking pictures of them she said, “Feed your face, f—” and another woman asked his partner, “Why are you with that f—?” resulting in an argument and beating. Frankelly says his partner tried to help as he was repeatedly punched while no one else on the train intervened.

Frankelly suffered a swollen eye and cut above his socket.
