Philly Black Radio Legend Joe Tamburro Dead At 70

A legend has left us.

Philadelphia black radio legend Joe “Butterball” Tamburro has died at the age of 70, according to Radio-Info.

He recently had surgery for a diabetes related illness and passed away this morning.

“Butter,” as he was most commonly known, was heard on Clear Channel Urban AC WDAS-FM.

He began his career in 1964 as a radio salesman and moved on up to the airwaves.
