Man Kicked Out of Harlem Church Near Death in ICU

A drunken man slammed his head on the ground after he was kicked out of a Harlem church, leaving him near death in an intensive care unit, the New York Daily News reports.

At about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, 42-year-old John Strother crashed a gospel performance at The Tabernacle of Deliverance For All People on Fredrick Douglass Blvd and stumbled on stage to give the singer a drunken embrace. He then proceeded to hug other people in the church.

Church members tried to escort Strother out the door, telling him his behavior was inappropriate but he got belligerent, according to witnesses, saying, “I know where I am! I’m in God’s house!”F— you and f— you!”

Two church members got in a scuffle with Strother and he was pushed out of the door, but he hit the pavement head-first and was knocked out.
