Inappropriate? Teacher Buys Students ’50 Shades of Grey’

The 14-year-old student asked to read '50 Shades of Grey' so the teacher went online and got it for him

50 shades of greyA Philadelphia mother wants her son’s high school teacher fired after he bought the teen the erotic novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” for in-class reading, NBC Philadelphia reports.

Maya Ladson says she was shocked to find the book in her 14-year-old’s book bag back on March 9. And was even more shocked to find out his teacher gave it to him.

“It clearly states on the cover, that the book is for mature audiences and has high sexual content,” Ladson told NBC. “This was a 100-percent act of negligence. There should never be pornographic material purchased and distributed to a student by a school teacher.”

Ladsen’s son is in the ninth grade. According to the school, the teacher asked students for a list of books they would like to read during an independent reading period. Ladson’s son requested “Fifty Shades of Grey.” His teacher then went online and ordered the book for the student.

The school is investigating.

It says that NOWHERE on the “cover”. Try again.

    • Kumo

There might have been a sticker on the cover. Different stores do different things with their “mature” books

    • Deli

On the back of the cover near the bottom it says “Erotic Romance” and “Mature Audience”

Exactly. Back cover. It’s not just out in plain site.

He’s in 9th grade! It’s not like he is in elementary school! Someone tell the mom to stop trying to start drama. 50 Shades isn’t an actual pornographic novel. If anything happens to this teacher, i’ll be a little upset.

50 Shades of Grey is an actual pornographic novel. There is a scene depicting in detail of Christian Grey pulling out the MC’s tampon and then having sex with her. Then they have more sex and talk about having sex and then drink and talk about anal and fisting.. so… what’s your definition of porn then?

“He reaches between my legs and pulls on the blue string… what! And… a gently pulls my tampon out and tosses it into the nearby toilet. Holy fuck. Sweet mother of all… Jeez. And then he’s inside me… ah! Skin against skin… moving slowly at first… easily, testing me, pushing me… oh my. I grip on to the sink, panting, forcing myself back on him, feeling him inside me. Oh the sweet agony… his hands clasp my hips. He sets a punishing rhythm – in, out, and he reaches around and finds my clitoris, massaging me… oh jeez. I can feel myself quicken.” << If this is an example of a teacher not buying porn for someone then I don't know what is.

It’s a book moms read. I see women reading it in public all the time. If you consider it porn, then the women who read it in public should be looked down on. maybe the teacher didn’t know the extent of the sexual content due to it’s extreme popularity. no one in their right mind (especially a well educated teacher) would purchase a pornographic novel for a child. why would he risk his job? he must have not realized how graphic it was. people make mistakes.

That’s actually funny. I mean it’s not super awful or anything, just weird. Like, what?

instead of worrying about her son reading an erotic novel (with no pictures) she should be worried about her son looking at hardcore porn on the internet, or maybe she should be concerned about the popular new video going around the net this week of a women getting her head cut off with a knife, i’ve seen it and i rate it 9/10 stars, not quite enough blood for my taste
