Tony Bennett Rages Against Assault Weapons in Harlem

The singer is a native of Queens

Gun control advocates rallied in Harlem on Thursday in response to news that a proposed federal assault weapons ban may not pass; and among them taking up the bullhorn was legendary singer Tony Bennett, the New York Daily News reports.

“I’m very committed to eliminating all the assault weapons in America,” Bennett said, drawing cheers from the crowd. “Assault weapons are weapons of war,” he said.

Bennett expressed anger at the NRA.

“We the people are stronger than the NRA!” he yelled.
