
- Zane Tankel, an owner of over 40 Applebees denounced Obamacare and claimed it will impose such burdensome expenses on him that he will need to fire workers, limit the hours of existing workers so that they are part-time and do not qualify for health insurance coverage, as well as cancel plans to open new restaurants.

- John Metz, who owns around 40 Denny’s Restaurants told the Huffington Post that he planned to add a 5 percent surcharge at the start of next year in addition to cutting back some full-time employees to part time due to Obamacare.

- Robert E. Murray, chairman and chief executive of Murray Energy, an Ohio-based coal company, laid off 54 people at American Coal, one of his subsidiary companies, and 102 at Utah American Energy, blaming a “war on coal” by the Obama administration.

- Papa John's CEO John Schnatter said that Obamacare will result in a $0.11 to $0.14 price increase per pizza.

- Darden Restaurants, the owner of Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants, are apparently "testing" cutting costs by putting more workers on part-time status in order to skirt paying for employee health care under President Obama's new law (which will hit January 1, 2014). According to a recent report, approximately 75% of the Darden Group's workforce are already part-timers.
