If your business deserves recognition, or if you would like to nominate another organization for the award, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is now accepting submissions for the 2013 “DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce takes great pride in honoring small business leaders who embody the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship through the Awards program. The winner of the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award will receive a $10,000 cash prize.

The eligibility requirements to participate in the awards program are, your company must have fewer than 250 employees and gross revenues of less than $20 million in 2010 and 2011. The criteria that applicants will be judged by are: staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, business strategies and goals.

The Community Excellence Award which is selected by popular vote will be awarded to a business that has found notable success in the eyes of its community. It’s voted on by the people that know a company best — its customers, employees and neighbors. This award is a great opportunity for businesses to maximize their exposure and receive the recognition they deserve.

“There’s not a time we don’t come to these meetings that we don’t learn something from somebody. We meet people, we engage them and all of a sudden, we have friends for life. So to be a part of something like this to us is extremely, extremely important,” says Tyrone Leslie, Co-Owner and President of Heritage Homes, last year’s winner of the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year award.

The winner will be announced on April 30, 2013 during America’s Small Business Summit.
