Urban Business Roundtable Spotlight on Cosmetics Maven Vera Moore


This week on “The Urban Business Roundtable,” UBR Contributor Dwaynes Betts speaks with cosmetics maven Vera Moore, CEO of Vera Moore Cosmetics. Moore’s products can be found on the shelves of major departments such as Duane Reade and Walgreens.

Moore is a history maker. She was the first black actress on the popular NBC soap opera, Another World. As an entrepreneur, she can be credited with being the first black-owned business to set up shop in the 50 year history at Green Acres Mall Valley Stream in Long Island, New York. She joins the Roundtable to share how she launched her company to become one of the most progressive and prestigious cosmetic and skincare lines.

Also, UBR Contributor Samantha Pass talks with Progress Investment Management President and CEO Thurman V. White Jr. White speaks on smart investment moves for today’s market. White’s expertise comes from his 22-year tenure  in the financial services industry. His company manages $9 billion in assets for institutional investors including the Chicago Teachers Pension Fund, The Cook County Pension Fund and Boeing.
