Enter the popular branded apps, an option that gives retailers a direct link to their consumers’ smartphones. Recent studies reveal that consumers spent six times as much time using retailers’ apps this winter than they did a year ago, while more than 60% of affluent shoppers view brands with with mobile apps more favorably.

Unfortunately, many businesses are losing out by missing the mark when it comes to poorly conceived and constructed apps. Here, Business News Daily reveals five mistakes businesses should avoid when developing their own branded app:
