Twitter: Brands Will Target What You’re Watching


Scandal viewers know this all too well. Tweeting while watching television shows has become a big part of modern-day television consumption.

Twitter knows that, too.

On Thursday, executives from the social media company announced they will capitalize by allowing advertisers to send advertisements to people who are watching and tweeting about specific programming, the New York Times reports.

“Twitter Amplify,” as it’s called, will help brands match ads with tweets from viewers.

Twitter says it will work with a number of media companies, including Time Inc., Bloomberg, Discovery, Vevo, Vice Media, Condé Nast Entertainment and Warner Music Group, to sell the ad content.
