Uber’s Taxi Service Returns to NYC

E-hail service is back in New York City

Taxi-hailing service Uber is returning to New York City, the San Francisco-based startup announced late Tuesday. The service, which is back as part of a one year e-hailing pilot program, was resurrected nearly six months after the local Taxi & Limousine Commission shut it down.

Although the app doesn’t support automatic payments at the moment, you can do the basics: hail and track the status of taxis, as well as black cars. Currently, the taxi service isn’t available at LGA, JFK or outside of the five boroughs, Mashable reports.

Uber operates in several cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta.
