Visa’s Tooth Fairy App Estimates Price of a Lost Tooth

The there’s-an-app-for-that phenomenon never ceases to amaze me.  With applications that can do nearly anything continuing to emerge, it was only a matter of time before a company released an app that helps both parents and children calculate the price of a loose tooth.

Visa’s tooth fairy app, a part of the financial education program Practical Money Skills, assists parents in determining how much money should be left under a child’s pillow. After parents input specific details such as age, gender, education and household income, the app calculates a suitable amount to leave for the tooth.

According to a survey conducted by the financial services corporation, the national average is $3 per tooth. That is 15% higher than last year.

The free tooth fairy app can be downloaded from iTunes and practicalmoneyskills.com, or used on Facebook.

This will likely give children some wiggle room when it comes to negotiating an appropriate exchange rate. Thanks, Visa!

So, parents, will you use the tooth fairy app to decide how much money to give your children?
