The summer months are the perfect time to relax in the sun, revisit that summer reading list you tucked away a few months back and recharge from the 9-to-5, September-May grind. While June, July and August should be reserved for vacationing, many people skip the downtime and forgo the summer festivities for more work.
Social media is constantly at work, too, which means fresh content is a must for brands and (small-to-large) businesses. Here, the Daily Muse provides four social ideas to keep your content cool and customers engaged:
Hang on to the current events
With news being a 24/7 business, latch on to the current trends. Associating your brand with what’s happening in the world (i.e. taking a stance on a hot-button topic, or creating your own spin in response to a breaking news story) will keep your brand’s content pertinent and timely.
Hold a contest
Contests always generate buzz, but it can be even more effective during the summer months when you need to remain engaged with your customers. Be sure to be strategic about your content. If there’s a specific platform you’re trying to grow, pick that social media network, or if one platform’s contest rules don’t work well with your strategy, choose one that does.
