The Obama administration announced that it would no longer use the phrase “enemy combatant†in reference to the war on terror or to justify holding prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
Larry Summers, director of the White House National Economic Council, participated in a discussion at the Brookings Institution about the state of the economy and the administration’s economic recovery plans.
He said the administration’s top priority is to “bring about economic recovery and ensuring that the next economic expansion, unlike its predecessors, is fundamentally sound and not driven by financial excess.†(Photo source: White House)
