Urban League to promote its free Homeowner Helpline (888-995-HOPE) as a resource to help African American homeowners struggling with their mortgage before they are threatened with foreclosure.
Our mission, in year 36 and beyond, is to close the wealth gap between black and white households in America. We will not rest until that mission is accomplished; it’s not a matter of if, but when. We at BE remain committed to doing whatever we must do to help African Americans gain financial freedom and economic empowerment. We will always challenge ourselves with the question,What more can we do?
Our goal is to help African americans — such as the Papillions, the winners of our 2005 own your first home contest — to not only get into their own homes, but keep them.
