From FAMU Alumna to Football Announcer: Breaking Barriers in Sports Media
After growing up around football and earning her broadcast journalism degree from Florida A&M University, Thai Floyd wanted to rattle the industry by combining her two passions. Now a graduate student and graduate assistant for the football team at HBCU Alabama A&M University, Thai is now breaking barriers, as the first woman in HBCU history to announce play-by-play football. She kicks off the fall season behind the mic on radio stations Aug. 30 and discusses her journey in sports media and how her HBCUs prepared her for this groundbreaking role.
