BE Modern Man: Meet ‘The Global Advisor’ Rahfeal Gordon

Name: Rahfeal “RahGor” Gordon

Age: 33

Profession: International Entrepreneur + Global Advisor

One Word That Describes You: Blessed

What does being one of the BEMM 100 Men of Distinction mean to you?

To be one of the BEMM 100 Men of Distinction is a great honor to me. The word “distinction” by definition means, “Excellence that sets someone or something apart from others.” For BE to recognize my style, intelligence, vision, and work outside of the many great men of this world, I couldn’t be more humbled.

What are some examples of how you turned struggle into success?

One example is that I began to read books on great leaders from various countries, so that I could emulate their leadership traits. Reading about their struggles and successes intensified my motivation to succeed. Their stories reminded me that all great men of this world had to deal with some form of great struggle.

Another example is having a yearning to be a great man in a society that constantly promotes the hardship of someone of my background, which can be a struggle all by itself. I took my pain, struggles, and insecurities and poured them all out on paper. Not only that, I made the decision not to go through struggles for nothing. I turned my pain into books, and those books were sold so that I could purchase plane tickets for me to help people around the world.

What is an important quality you look for in your relationships with others?

An important quality I look for in my relationships with others is honesty. There can never be a relationship, if honesty isn’t the majority of the foundation.

What are some immediate projects you are working on?

Currently, I am on the Skyscraper world tour, which is to promote my latest book, Skyscraper. My amazing RahGor team hosts book signings, dinners, and seminars for me around the globe while on tour. In between tour breaks, I advise various world leaders and entrepreneurs who impact humanity in the most dynamic ways.

I am also preparing to release two new books. The first book, Leading Without Limits, is a book for individuals who want to be global leaders. The second book is entitled, ONE23: The Compelling Memoir of RahGor, which is a re-release book about my journey from Newark, New Jersey to becoming a global leader and entrepreneur. We have begun the process of turning ONE23 into a portrait film, which will be produced by Mohri Films.

What is the best advice you ever received?

I’ve never really looked at one piece of advice as better than another.  Throughout various times in my life, there’s always something I’ve heard that was the best advice for that moment. One piece advice I will share with you comes from the Bible, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors, there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).

What is some advice you have for other men who want to make a difference?

  1.  Always find time to develop yourself to become better than who you were yesterday. This can be achieved by reading books on great men of the past and present, watching documentaries about those who have made a difference, traveling the world to experience various cultures, and learning new languages.
  2. Make a commitment to some area of your community. Step back and recognize what is working and what is not. Once you have done this, decide on how you will commit to help fixing that within your community. This can be mentoring high school kids failing in school, cleaning an elder’s yard, or even creating a neighborhood group to provide assistance to a family in need. Just make a commitment to something!
  3. The longer it takes for you to make a decision to make a difference somewhere, the longer it will take for a person to have their prayers answered. You could be the answer that someone in the world is seeking. So, don’t hesitate to create Heaven on Earth for someone.

How do you prep for an important business meeting and/or event?

I plan out my notes and speaking points first, and then I plan out my wardrobe for that event/meeting. I always look at myself as a super hero, and one thing that is important is how I move in the uniform I wear. I make sure that what I wear helps me feel confident, along with how I am going to present.

As a busy Modern Man, how do you unwind on vacation? Share a story about your best vacation.

I create my vacation based upon where I travel outside of the United States. Last year, I had a speaking engagement in Bergen, Norway. I decided to extend my stay for an extra seven days, so that I could hang out in Oslo, Norway. While in Oslo, I met up with two friends who lived in a small village outside of the city of Oslo. We took walks through the forest, practiced water meditation sessions, and sat in the front of the house listening to birds chirp in the morning while drinking tea. I usually wake up in the early morning and pray, go through vision training (exercising my imagination), and do a short mediation session by myself. That’s how I unwind on vacation. The opportunity to have experienced the simplicity of life is what makes that visit one of my best vacations.

If you could travel and stay anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I can’t say, because the world is so huge and there are many places I haven’t seen yet. I have been to many places thus far, and each one grabs me differently. They are all my favorite places, because the people within those countries bring out the best in me in their own way.

Anything else you’d like to say?

Yes. To every person reading this article, always remember that your location is not your destination. Trust me, if you have faith, keep your dreams alive, and live life on your own terms, you will experience the true depths of life.
