Sure flats are the basic essential to every working woman’s wardrobe (or any girl’s for that matter), but this season they’re beyond basic and on trend, serving up more umph than frump for your style.
Typically flats are reserved for errands or backups when the heels have reached their limit, but this season they’re the shoe of choice. With heels reaching staggering heights of 5 inches and beyond, it’s high time they took a little hiatus in the closet.
This doesn’t mean you can’t step out in style. In fact, flats are more stylish than ever and were even spotted on a few runways during New York Fashion Week. Already, I have picked up a few and received more compliments on them than many of my best walkers.
Here are a few options to check out:
The sleek trend of pointy toes shoes carries on from the fall, taking on a shorter measure in these flats that are just as chic and polished as their high predecessors
Metallic Cutout Flats
Who said flats have to be boring. These metallic ones will shine bright like a diamond with your wardrobe making it pretty hard to fight the allure of these pretty shiny things.
Ballet Flats with Block Heels
I love the retro feel of these flats. With less block heel lees than 2inches they offer minimum height and maximum style for modern day flats. The glitter finish is pretty great too.
Edgy Flats? Why not. These flats are anything but frumpy offering just the right amount of edge to anything you pair them with.
Printed Slip On
Who needs heels with fierce flats like these. With both a pointy and metal cap toe these slip-ons make a statement just as bold as your highest heels.
Forget the notion of shoes without heels being purely practical and for comfort; think of them as funky, fashionable and fun flats to compliment your wardrobe. Look for them with cute details that sparkle and shine, have texture or prints and take on interesting shapes and cuts. Beside the standard ballet flat try a loafer, oxfords, a smoker shoe or ballet flats with low block heels.
Your feet will thank you for it later!
