#MondayMotivation: Implement the Life You Were Destined to Have

What has stopped you from following your dreams? Do you know what your dreams are?

In order to truly live, you should try following your heart. Then, you may realize that your dreams can be achieved and you will be the person God destined you to be. Regardless of your age or station in life, now is the time to live the life you were destined to live.

Throughout life, we make mistakes, and we have to own up to them. However, we can get over our past and invent our future. In order to achieve this, we need to understand what our dreams are.

Today, everyone is probably not in their profession (according to 2013 statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, only 27% of college grads have a job related to their major), but we all had a dream. If it did fall to the wayside, why wasn’t the dream picked back up? Deep down inside the dream is still there; dig deeper and retrieve it so you can live it. The problem is that sometimes we hope our dreams come true without ever working toward them. You must work at them every day until you see the dreams come to fruition.

When you discover your dream, it should be written down in a journal so you are able to reflect on it daily. Placing it on your vision board is a great idea as well. Now, let’s imagine that your dream is to be the major chef at the White House. Write down the vision of “The White House Chef.” Now, work backward from your dream. In order to be a chef at the White House, you must be an excellent cook with an impeccable reputation of service, you must have licenses in food and sanitation, and experience with managing staff and catering events. Therefore, there are at least four major goals that must be accomplished in order to achieve your dream. The first is to be an excellent cook. The second is to be licensed in food and sanitation. The third is to manage staff, and the fourth is to become a trained event coordinator for large and intimate parties.

Everyone has dreams that should be implemented. You may be the only person in the world with the dream. Why not implement it? Why not move forward with your dream? Why not reignite your passion and follow your dream? You are responsible for your dreams. Don’t be responsible for not being a blessing to others, because you have not implemented your dream. Michael Jackson’s song “Man in the Mirror” describes how we are responsible for our own dreams and the change that we seek in the world:

I’m starting with the man in the mirror

I’m asking him to change his ways

and no message could have been any clearer

If you wanna make the world a better place

Take a look at yourself, and make a change.
