Thanks for adding me to this list. I’d also add Tiffany Brown who commented above. @webinista is an employee of the web browser company Opera. She is a Web Opener with the Opera Software company and tweets about tech.

Marcia and the BE team, thank you for including me. I would also add the Blogalicious Weekend founders Stacey Ferguson, Nyasha Smith, and Nadia Jones @beblogalicious. Pam Perry is a social media genius @smperry and @pamperry. Abiola Abrams @abiolatv and Twanna Hines @funkybrownchick are amazing. DeDe Sutton, founder of Clutch Magazine is phenomenal – @dedej and @clutchmagazine. There are several Black women who have created fantastic webisode series like Sonya Steele, founder of Celeste Bright – @sonyasteele and @celestebright; Toni Odom, founder of AHSHE – @ahshewebisode; and Issa Rae – @issarae, founder of The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. Shameeka Ayers, founder of The Broke Socialite and lavish! conference, uses social media in unique ways – @brokesocialite. I also think Spelman College @spelmancollege should be included because of the many ways the college uses social media to promote its students, programs, and alumni. Spelman College President Beverly Daniel Tatum also tweets – @bdtspelman.

Thank you for the inclusion! Yes, definite acknowledgement to all the women of color in technology. There’s plenty of us, but our media usually gives so much attention to the athletes, singers and actresses who deserve recognition, but it’s nice to see a balance. Thank you, BE.

congrats to all and especially LaShanda Henry! That’s my girl! She is so real – and so creative and really a person you should know off Twitter too. She truly cares about people – especially help Black women succeed online in their business. She has a magazine too! :) Yaay Sista Sense.

P.S. I know you would do what you do even if you didn’t get “noticed” or “listed.” It’s just who you are. That’s the beauty of this recognition. It’s about your passion and purpose.
