Black Women who Have Been Affected by Cancer

As this is Breast Cancer Awareness month, here are some women who were diagnosed with the sickness

In 2011, it was estimated that 6,040 black women would die from breast cancer, which is much higher than the mortality rates of women of other races.

The women featured in the gallery are recognizable, some survived and others didn’t, but the fight goes on.

Let’s take time to honor and remember these courageous women for battling cancer.
