On June 2, chicken lovers will unite for National Rotisserie Chicken Day—a day for enthusiasts to take a stand against fried chicken and celebrate what made Boston Market a household name 30 years ago: rotisserie chicken.
To celebrate the first National Rotisserie Chicken Day, WNBA Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie joined the campaign to ask every American to “take a side against fried.” “As a mom, I think it is a great opportunity to use my platform to let other moms–especially working moms–know that there are ways to make life easier. I teamed up with Boston Market because rotisserie chicken is fast, healthy and yummy. Stopping to pick up Boston Market is a step toward making better food choices,” said Leslie during an exclusive interview with Black Enterprise.
“What I love about rotisserie chicken is that it goes a long way for your family. Leftovers make for a great chicken salad for lunch and chicken tacos on the go. You know you are getting healthy chicken that tastes great. You can use it in so many ways,” says Leslie.
Additionally on June 2, Boston Market will offer customers a free regular third side with the purchase of a Rotisserie Chicken Individual Meal. When fans show their love on social media using the hashtag #RotisserieChickenDay, they will also receive a surprise and selected delights from Boston Market.
“At Boston Market, we have watched rotisserie chicken’s popularity grow exponentially. It’s a healthier and more delicious way to eat America’s favorite protein,” said George Michel, CEO of Boston Market.
“From taste to value to convenience, rotisserie chicken is a wholesome meal staple every household should consider including at family mealtime. Boston Market serves all natural chicken that is fresh and never frozen, with no added hormones or steroids. Marinated with a signature combination of garlic and herbs, Boston Market rotisserie chicken is moist and flavorful. It’s easy to quickly pick up a rotisserie chicken and select from Boston Market’s many side dish options for a tasty, guilt-free meal that groups of friends and the entire family can enjoy. The best part is, with rotisserie chicken, it’s easy to incorporate leftovers in homemade recipes – like shredded chicken tacos, soups, salads, sandwiches, and more.”
“Rotisserie chicken – and especially the chicken at Boston Market – deserves its own hall of fame because it’s a more healthful cooking method. You can enjoy it so many different ways and it’s simply delicious,” said Leslie, an Olympic gold medalist and mother of two. “That’s why I’m joining with Boston Market to promote healthy meal options for busy families.”
