Harlem SPA WEEK Honors Black Men

Harlem SPA WEEK Honors Black Men

Seven Brown is embracing her third reset career as an entrepreneur and esthetician, as founder of Harlem Skin Clinic, a boutique skin care center located in the heart of Harlem.

Brown is an award-winning internationally licensed skincare professional and beauty educator with more than 15 years’ experience in Electrotherapy (non-surgical facelift).

Brown is behind Harlem SPA WEEK, which is in full swing.

Harlem Skin and Laser Clinic is offering up its top services to men and women at up to more than 50% off in some cases. Brown says this year is extra special with a focus on celebrating black men with special services and events. This includes a Gentleman’s Lounge cocktail reception and grooming 101 demos featuring surprise event partners.

Special services includes a beard facial with cleansing and a stubble reduction mask, allowing men to get closer to their loved ones without the fear of “scratchy beard face.” Then there’s the infinity laser hairline, which keeps a crisp clean cut forever using perfectly lined laser hair removal.

In 2014, the market for haircare products formulated for or sold specifically to African American consumers was an estimated $774 million in retail sales, according to a report by Mintel.

The same report found that black men are also more likely to use grooming products, moisturizers, shower gels and facial cleaners. They’re also more likely to have facial hair, driving more need for maintenance products.

All of this has led to an explosion in the number of hair products for black men, reports askmen.com. “I thought it was only right to host a special dedicated event during SPA WEEK to educate and share information about men’s skincare and grooming–especially black men,” says Brown.

“I am so pleased to be with some really intuitive guys dedicated to being stylish including De’Von Johnson (Bleu Magazine), Louis Johnson Jr. (Harlem Haberdashery) Musa Jackson (MJP Productions & Contributor, Uptown Magazine) and Dannis Winston (Winston’s Crew Collective).” The group will share tips during a gentlemen’s grooming panel discussion.

All SPA WEEK specials will be extended until April 30th. In addition to SPA WEEK Gentlemen’s Grooming Lounge, the Clinic celebrates one year of being in business at its current location.
