Sabrina Peterson, Founder of Glam University, kicked off the Girl Power Sleepover with her Business A-Z and Flip classes, followed by numerous sessions including a Branding 101 class hosted by media maven Karen Civil, Rolling Out CEO Munson Steed, and Michelle Alexander of General Motors; a breakout class with New York Times best-selling author and movie producer Zane; and a class on “Taking Your Product from the Kitchen to Mainstream Stores,” by CURLS CEO Mahisha Dellinger. Between the educational aspects, numerous lifestyle activities were held, including the WETBAR lounge area presented by MillerCoors and the Design Essentials Suite with photo-booth and fun.

This event truly inspired attendees to network; Kandice Marie, owner of My Fair Sweets & Girl Power Sleepover expert states, “With whom you assemble, you will soon resemble.” The highlight of the evening was an intimate Q&A with New York Times best-selling author of #GirlBoss and Nasty Gal Founder Sophia Amoruso. This hour-long segment, moderated by Sabrina Peterson, went into depth on Sophia’s journey from an aspiring entrepreneur to a multi-million dollar cultural icon. Sophia shared her personal marketing tips, various books and videos to read for financial and business insight, the do’s and don’ts of venture capitalism, and more with the audience.

Preceding her panel, Sophia was thanked and formally welcomed to the city of Atlanta by Sarah-Elizabeth Reed – wife of Mayor Kasim Reed and the city of Atlanta’s First Lady. Sarah noted Amoruso and Peterson to be “an inspiration to all, showcasing the true definition of beauty and business.” The evening wrapped with a private dinner for the event experts and then pajamas and a movie with all experts and guests. “The Girl Power Sleepover was an amazing and impactful event. Not only did I learn key nuggets of wisdom from the other experts, but I learned from the attendees as well,” Tahira Wright, expert & co-founder of The Cut Life states, “I’m excited to see the growth of Sabrina Peterson’s brainchild.”
