A recent study by BizLaunch provides very insightful and revealing information regarding entrepreneurs and their relationships with the brands they follow on social media. This data comes at a time when many marketers are planning their content strategies for 2013.
This study questioned more than 450 small business owners across North America who were given an online survey to complete. The small business owners included new entrepreneurs, veteran business owners and businesses with 1-to-45 employees.
The research showed that the majority of small business owners (65.9%) follow between 1-to-10 brands online. When asked what factors are behind their decision to follow a brand online, many factors were mentioned including finding out about exclusive offers, and information about future products. 73% of entrepreneurs said they’d like to see more content, at least once a week from the brands they follow on twitter.
