This week on The Urban Business Roundtable, UBR contributor Renita D. Young speaks with entrepreneur, activist and successful dentist Dr. Walter Young, c0-founder, president and CEO of Young International Beverage, one of the world’s largest suppliers of private label beverage brands. Dr. Young founded Atlanta-based Young International Beverage along with his brother, former United Nations Ambassador Rev. Andrew Young. The company distributes beverages worldwide through restaurants, military post base exchanges and airports.
Dr. Young followed in his father’s footsteps to become a successful dentist, but never gave up on his personal goal of becoming an entrepreneur. In addition to being an astute businessman, he is also an involved community activist and a charter member of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta. Young joins the Roundtable to share tips for entrepreneurs on how to balance professional goals with a passion for running a profitable business.
Also, UBR contributor Samantha Pass speaks with Internet entrepreneur Stephen Pierce, who runs an expansive portfolio of online businesses. Stephen Pierce International is a company that provides solutions to new business owners, established entrepreneurs and CEOs looking to leverage the Internet for consistent progress toward their financial goals. Pierce joins the Roundtable to share strategies and tips for entrepreneurs who want to maximize the Internet as a business resource.
And finally, every week on UBR, you’ll hear my “Alfred’s Notepad” segment, get motivation and inspiration from author and entrepreneurial icon Farrah Gray, a weekly wrap-up of business news from USA Today business correspondent Charisse Jones, our Patient Investor Report from Ariel Investments and key economic intelligence for small business owners from our UBR economists Derrick Collins and Rasheed Carter.
