On the Real Housewives of Atlanta, we've all seen the drama and antics of six women interacting both professionally and personally to make must-see TV. But Attorney Phaedra Parks is not your typical reality TV diva. She's been managing law partner at The Parks Group, P.C., for a decade, and has represented the likes of Bobby Brown, Jermaine Dupri and Ludacris, among others.

The mother, entrepreneur, and litigator, was president of the Gate City Bar Association, and actively sits on boards for organizations including the American Bar Association and the University of Georgia. One can't have all of this under her (designer) belt without knowing a thing -- or three--- about networking.

On the heels of last night's episode, we caught up with Parks for her quick and dirty quips on making quality connections. ---Janell Hazelwood

TWITTER: I know that this is probably an obvious one, but how do you really engage with Twitter? Do you use it as a personal tool to connect with others? Promote your business? Both? Do you need a personal and business account? I would say, it all depends. I have one account for me personally, which I also use professionally. When my new book, Chasing Youth Culture And Getting It Right, is published in April, I will be using another account for book tweets only. I want to make sure that those messages go to people who want data on youth marketing specifically. So the moral of this story is, know your target market. Your tweets will have a greater impact if you’re really focused on who you’re trying to reach.

The workplace is changing fast. Technology is changing even faster. Are universities keeping pace with either one? Is the U.S. moving fast enough to train and educate a workforce to compete in a global economy? The pressure to innovate within corporations and in small businesses has never been greater. The shift from industrial age thinking to an adaptive, digital, innovative culture will not just be the responsibility of the employer but the employee as well. The real question is: How fast are you changing?

In the U.S. workforce we are trained to think methodically with antiquated processes and tremendous uncertainty in the economy. We have experienced decades of success in industrial thinking and an education system that has been out paced by its foreign competitors. Are we now victims of our own success? What does this mean for the U.S. workforce? Here are four changes in the new economy workplace. —Hajj Flemings

After months of beta testing, Facebook made their new Timeline layout available to the public today. Previously, only a select few users were able to upgrade to Facebook Timeline, which is a total redesign of the look, feel and interactivity of the social media platform. But what exactly makes Facebook Timeline different from all of the previous changes? For starters, it shifts the focus from merely in-the-moment status updates to a detailed overview of a user's entire life, raising the level of interconnectivity between users.
As with any Facebook upgrade there are critics, who are concerned about privacy issues and the potential for identity theft. However, Facebook is providing users with a seven-day grace period to review and edit all their Timeline-accessible information. Click here to “get Timeline” now, but remember you’ll only have seven days to review your page before it goes live to "friends". To help users adjust to the changes, Mashable listed 10 things you need to know about Facebook Timeline.
