13-Year-Old Saves Life of Father With CPR


Shardae Simmonds was only 10 years old when she first learned how to perfrom CPR. Three years later, her training came in handy when her father, Glen Simmonds, passed out in their home from a heart attack.

On February 15th, Shardae’s mother informed her that her father had passed out in their bedroom. Shardae called 911 and performed CPR until the ambulance arrived. That action saved his life.

Here is what he had to say about his daughter’s heroic actions.

“It was a situation where seconds counted, and if I had not received help immediately from my daughter and my wife, I wouldn’t be here,” he said.
