19. North Milwaukee State Bank


Founded in 1971, North Milwaukee State Bank is the oldest and second largest minority-owned bank in Wisconsin. The bank offers financial education outreach, new construction loans, grants, auxiliary/events support,  private banking, and financial advisory services.  Church congregations represent one of the firm’s largest customer-base.

The bank’s assets totaled $93.8 million in 2008—up 15% from the previous year.
