Cool Jobs: SaGe Services CEO Helps Facilitate Global Tech Innovations

Tapua Tunduwani, CEO and president, SaGe Services

We have good news for you. You can have a cool career and make a good living. No need to choose between loving your job and paying your mortgage. The following profile, part of the Cool Jobs series, offers a peek into the nuts and bolts, perks and salaries behind enjoyable careers.

The It Factor: Tapua Tunduwani, CEO and president of Sambiri Global Enterprise (SaGe) Services, works to provide a vital resource to business innovators, especially in the tech industry: a space where they can freely and efficiently facilitate ideas, concepts, networking and business solutions to advance their enterprises. With office suites across the U.S., SaGe offers global and domestic business people—from startups to Fortune 500 companies including IBM and Coca-Cola—a place where they can not only utilize vital services, but be in an environment that caters to enterprise-savvy professionals.

Global Grind: Tunduwani, who spent 14 years as an IT entrepreneur, had a personal example of go-getting early in life. “My father was an entrepreneur, so I was exposed to it growing up.” Through his experiences, he knows the importance of maximizing opportunities, time and money. “I [was raised and have worked] in Zimbabwe. I’ve worked in at least four different countries, and in each experience, I found that it’s very important, when you’re starting a new business, to be able to set up and get working as quickly and as affordable as possible,” he says. “With this kind of set up, you don’t need a huge capital investment up front where you have to pay rent, buy office equipment, furniture, etc. It’s a low-cost way to start a business, and you’re able to be in an environment where you can connect with a network of other entrepreneurs, especially in a new market.

Passion Into Profit: Having a unique opportunity to utilize flexible workspace is key in a tech industry that’s becoming more and more global and even more fast-paced.  “It’s critical,” Tunduwani says. “Many tech entrepreneurs work from different locations—from home and while traveling quite often—so this enables them to have office space when they need it, on demand. We’re part of a national network of centers, so if they need to have space in various parts of the country, it’s an effective option. We provide the technology that a business would need, and we integrate that with flexible office space.”

Tunduwani finds joy in being part of the process of innovation. “I love the ability to able to fuel that engine,” he says. “Meeting different people, with unique ideas, who are starting various enterprises, and enabling that is great. You learn a lot when you’re exposed to so many different businesses and people. It’s exciting.”
