Kanye West Supports Democrats, Urges People To Vote

There’s two things that most people urge not to talk about in conversation: politics and religion. Kanye West is not like most people though, as he has taken to Twitter to make sure Americans got out to vote.

The Louis Vuitton Don rapper has oft said things that made people question his sanity, but today his heart was in the right place. West, 37, manned his social page which boasts 10.9 million followers to get some things off his chest during Election Day.

The Roc Nation rapper started off noting that he and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, met President Barack Obama. This is not the first time these entities have crossed paths. Earlier this year, Kim K, a celebrity who commands a lot of attention, created an avatar in the likeness of the 44th Commander-in-Chief for her game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Her megastar husband, Kanye, also had a few run-ins with Obama but were mostly combative tiffs between the two.

In 2012, West, fresh off of upsetting the music industry with another stream-of-consciousness rant, managed to be called a “jackass” by President Obama when interviewed by The Atlantic. Both men have moved on and their meeting over the weekend has lit a fire under the controversial musician and his wife. On Monday, Kim Kardashian posted to her Twitter and Instagram that she’s “standing w[ith] Obama in the midterm election,” and followed it up Tuesday with the image from her mobile game.

She included a link to IWillVote.com, a website that provides information to voters on polling locations and electoral deadlines.

Meanwhile, the rapper and creative director behind DONDA went on an election-themed Twitter rant hours before the polls closed. Throwing his considerable influence behind the Democrats in a tweet may just start a new trend of celebrity endorsements.
