Snoop Dogg Teams Up With The Democratic National Committee to Encourage Voters to ‘Drop It In The Box’

The message to draw people to get out and vote has taken a new route since the advent of the coronavirus pandemic. Since this is an election year, and many things in this country are at stake, the effort to get more people to vote has increased in ways never seen previously. Now, more than ever, the effort to encourage people to use an absentee ballot amid COVID-19 has brought greater attention to the issue.

Hip-hop artist and successful entrepreneur Calvin Broadus, also known as Snoop Dogg, has teamed up with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to debut a new promotional ad to bring home the message of utilizing Ballot Drop Boxes for mailing in your vote. The spot, “Drop It In The Box!” features Snoop Dogg’s hit song “Drop It Like It’s Hot” to highlight how voters can drop their ballot in a convenient drop box location.

The “Drop It In The Box” ad was created and produced by marketing agency, Cashmere. The creative spot was directed by acclaimed music video and film director Chris Robinson and his team at Robot Film Co.

“This is the most important election of our lifetimes and it’s my first time voting. We need every single American to get out there and vote,” said Snoop Dogg in a written statement. “It’s time for y’’all to drop those ballots like they’re hot — in your local drop box. Vote early and let ‘em know our voices will be heard!

The ad will reach voters on digital platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Hulu, and YouTube in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

During the ad, the video will direct people to find out their registration status on the website, IWillVote.com, Democrats’ voter participation website. They will also be able to learn about drop box locations in their state and any other information they may need to make their plan to vote.
