The Founders of Afripedia Are Changing the One-Sided Story About Africa

Stocktown.com presents you with video clips, their best links, fresh content, and filmmakers from all over the world.

Live on stage, Show & Tell is another project I’m proud of. It’s a monthly offline event started out in Stockholm Sweden. We want to spread new perspectives about stories that matter to us. That´s why we produce real stage performances where we engage people to share inspiring YouTube videos. The selected videos are screened in front of an audience in an environment where you can kick back and socialize with other video junkies who are passionate about visual culture. Be it an inspiring person, action, movement, or expression, it’s all about culture in motion!

Can you share 3—4 tips you’ve used to help build a team and  spread awareness about your mission?

  • Keep a high standard and expectation for your team and product; communication must be constant.
  • Tell everyone who you know what you are doing: support can come in many great ways, sometimes non-monetarily.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help; a truly great idea will always be collaborative.

Their platform is set to launch by the fall of 2016. In the meantime, you can subscribe to Afripedia, follow them on YouTube, and keep an eye out for events showcasing creatives and screenings of the films near you.
