The 46-year-old Arsenal football fan was ranked second on a list of the United Kingdom’s 100 most influential black people.

Thiam is a member of the Council of Overseas Development Institute and a member of the Africa Progress Panel. He holds engineering degrees from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris, where he graduated at the top of his class, and an MBA from INSEAD.  He lives in London with his American wife and two sons.
