It’s been nearly twenty years since apartheid laws ruled South Africa, but age-old racial tensions have not subsided.
A political ad created by the student wing of the Democratic Alliance party, which shows a white man and a black woman embracing, donning the tagline “In OUR future, you wouldn’t look twice,” is causing quite a stir.
The poster has incited a heated debate among local media and politicians, according to the Washington Post.
On Facebook, the Democratic Alliance’s page reads:
“Love the DA! This campaign image is exactly what South Africa needs…[we] can stand together as one post-apartheid nation where race, religion or sexual preference doesn’t mean anything, we’re all human! Go DA! You have my vote. 
”
Other users, however, had much harsher things to say, condemning the poster for “immorality” and calling it an “abomination.”
According to the Washington Post, one commenter posted a photo of an all-white, blonde family, saying “Now that’s how it should be!”
This is all Bushes fault.
40 yrs ago such an ad would’ve be controversial in the states. Now such an ad would elicite mostly positive responses. The negative responses from SA whites only shows how far SA has yet to go to shed its racist apartheid past. Racists will be with us for the forseeable future. But, they should be a small minority in any society. To the racist pig who post the picture of an all blond family captioned, “that’s how it should be”, I’d posit one question. Why?
This had to been encouraged by Americans. Why don’t the concentration be on integration of the economy based on ethnic population percentages. Whites are trying to maintain control of then wealth by any means. Just as black Americans who are dead last in every category of health and wealth success, so will be the faith of black South Africans.Southn Africans and other African Countries should have a definition written in their Constitution defining marriage as between female(s)/male. Or better yet have a particular license for male/female marriage separate from any others. Look at then social conditions in the U.S South Africa don’t want that.
Why don’t you come live in South Africa before you make assumptions. White South Africans are the least Racist race in South Africa, whites moved past racism when they voted in a referendum to free all South Africans from apartheid way back before 1990 (barring a few individuals ofcourse). There are currently approx 4 million Whites and approximately 35 million Blacks in South Africa and that number makes you think the whites hold all the wealth? how so. There are more than 4 million Blacks that have jumped the social ladder to wealth and did not have to lift a finger for it. The current Black government just sees fit to plunder from honest working South Africans to enrich it’s self and the pockets of the government officials. White South Africans are holding on to all the wealth they can gather because it is daily being eroded by corrupt laws and lawmakers. The Black ZA’s still do not know how to manage money correctly and honestly, they live from day to day – spend all they have now and beg, borrow or steal some more tommorrow, the ZA government officials included. The Whites of ZA built the infrastructure and economy of South Africa so there is no reason why it should be given to Blacks for free. They should work hard and earn it just like the Whites did. But that is sadly not the case. The Black Government is simply stealing and strong arming the whites out of the South African Economy and allowing the Chinees to take over for some hefty kickbacks/backhanders into the governments pockets. On the topic of that poster, with the dwindling numbers of Whites in ZA it is not hard to understand why some people would take offence to inter-racial relationships, as I am sure they are concerned about the longevity and survival of the White race in South Africa which is rightfuly as much their country as it is any other race of ZA.
If you want to get a REAL rise out of racists, try inverting the couple’s races–black man with white woman: the white man’s nightmare, the white woman’s terror…..if you believe conventional mythology!

Some people are missing the point completely here.
The majority of complaints such as the ones quoted in the article:
“abomination.”
Were not referring to the race of the couple but to the fact that they are NAKED.
They claim that the poster is promoting promiscuity.
They commenter posting about the blonde family… That could SOOOOOO easily just be a joke guys. Seriously. It’s teh internets after all.
I should also state that I disagree with the complainants as I fully understood what the poster intended to portray as soon as I saw it.
As for whether or not it was necessary for them to be NAKED… I think that was just marketing/looking for attention to be honest.
If the DA “inverted” the races of the couple on the poster (Black male and White female) it would have the disastrous effect of losing the opposition party votes.
Not a single TV or press/magazine advert in SA would dare feature a Black male cavorting naked with a White female, and this is seemingly indicative of the underlying racist connotations present in large parts of White South African society. This restriction on miscegenation (interracial marriage/racial admixture) preserves the patriarchal dominance of the White male on any mixed race offspring whilst an “inverted” (Black male and White female) advert promoting patriarchal dominance of the Black male, is a direct threat to the preservation of the dominant status of the White male in South African society at large.

And I actually do have 2 questions for you if it’s allright. Could it be only me or does it give the impression like some of these comments look like coming from brain dead individuals?
