Hightowers Petroleum Co. is the second largest minority fuel supplier in the country and the second largest black-owned company in Ohio. The Franklin, Ohio-based company was established in 1985 as a strategic alliance between father/son business partners Yudell and Stephen Hightower and BP Oil.

The domestic energy company provides wholesale gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuels to commercial fleets, top 500 publicly traded companies, marine vessel contractors, and government institutions  across its 48 state distribution network.

Clients include Ford Motor Co., Duke Energy, Waste Management, Ryder, and the Indiana Turnpike Commission among others. In 2008, the company grossed revenues of $104.1 million—up 84.4% from the previous year.
