Actress Ryan Destiny Named The Name Face Of Black Opal Beauty

Ryan Destiny has another new job to add to her résumé. The actress announced that she will be the new brand ambassador and face of the Black-owned beauty brand, Black Opal. The drugstore cosmetics collection unveiled the news on its social media pages about working with Destiny on its new campaign.

Destiny will be the brand’s first-ever celebrity spokesperson and will help kick off the brand’s 2021 lineup. The new collection includes six new eye palettes, Lip and Cheek Tinted Balm, Invisible Oil Blocking Pressed Powder, the High Shine Lip Gloss, Precision Eye Liner, and definer. Destiny celebrated the news of the new partnership after using the brand since she was a teenager.

“I started using Black Opal when I was 16—they were the only makeup brand out there that had all the shades that I needed for my face,” Destiny says in an interview with Allure about the brand. “It just felt right when they came to me. I love that it’s Black-owned and female-owned. This is a really cool thing to be a part of, and I’m just really honored.”

The brand showed a video with the new announcement on its Instagram page. “BLK/OPL is thrilled to share that @ryandestiny is our new Brand Ambassador! The epitome of the #BLKBeautyMovement, Ryan is an electric singer, actor, and compassionate creative—we cannot wait to take on 2021 with her by our side.”
