Bil Carpenter

Over the last two decades, Bil Carpenter has written hundreds of music-related articles (R&B, Gospel, Pop, Country and Blues) for publications as diverse as People magazine, Living Blues and The Washington Post. He’s also written dozens of liner notes CD compilation essays for Warner Bros., Time Life Music, and Sony Music. His book “Uncloudy Days: The Gospel Music Encyclopedia” (Hal Leonard Publishing, Inc.) earned an NAACP Image Award nomination in 2007. Carpenter has also carried on a parallel career in public relations field where he received his training in the 1992 Clinton/Gore campaign and also as the Media Director for Coretta Scott King’s 30th anniversary “March on Washington” in 1993. He co-founded Capital Entertainment, a music PR firm in 1994 and it continues to this day. Carpenter was also a featured voice in the acclaimed documentary film “Rejoice & Shout” (2010 Magnolia Pictures). He is a graduate of The American University in Washington, D.C.
