Black Plastic Surgeon Offers to Perform $12,000 Surgery on ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’ for No Charge

Previously, BLACK ENTERPRISE reported about Michael Obeng who became the first Black surgeon with a practice in Beverly Hills and his multimillion-dollar net worth. This week, Obeng is in the headlines once again after offering his services—free of charge—to Tessica Brown, who is also known as the infamous “Gorilla Glue Girl.”

Brown went viral after releasing a video on TikTok and Instagram revealing that she used Gorilla Glue to lay down her hair after running out of hair spray. As a result, she says in the video that her hair has been stuck in place for a month. She has amassed over 500,000 new followers on social media in addition to a new verified account where she has been updating followers who have been sending her well wishes on her recovery journey.

TMZ reported that Obeng has offered the Louisiana woman a $12,000 surgery to help her. Brown also shared on her Instagram page that she will be flying to Los Angeles this week to meet with him at his private practice to discuss how the procedure would work to help her save her hair and scalp.
