Beyonce Lends Her Voice to Help Goodwill Promote Job Opportunities

Goodwill Industries International today announced that they’ll be partnering with Beyonce Knowles-Carter to raise awareness about their mission of transforming lives through the power of work. This announcement comes just as Beyonce gets ready to kick off The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour today in Serbia.

Beyonce will help build awareness of Goodwill’s mission through in-concert education, social media campaigns and an online ticket auction where special ticket packages for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour will be offered, with the revenue benefitting Goodwill. Beyonce will encourage fans to support Goodwill by promoting donation drives at her North American concerts beginning on Friday, June 28, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Goodwill will also host mobile donation centers at 28 tour venues in 24 North American cities, collecting clothing, electronics and small household goods. The sale of these donated items will be used to fund skills training, career placement services and career counseling.

Beyonce will also advocate on behalf of other local charitable agencies involved in job creation and employment services during the overseas portion of her tour. She hopes to bring to the light the importance of economic independence, and how it’s an important step towards improving the quality of life for those in need around the globe.

“Goodwill helps people get back to work by providing education, job training and placement. I wanted to team up with an organization that puts people first and works every day to help them improve and re-establish their lives,” said Beyonce.
