“Buying black” became popular in the African American community as an economic self-help goal just a few years ago in 2012. But for Brian Williams it was more than a trend. It was around this time that Williams got the idea for a black e-commerce hub and he founded PurchaseBlack.com, a curated website where consumers can spend their money with black businesses, shortly thereafter.
