DRAMA ACROSS THE POND: Chris Brown Arrested in London Over Alleged 2023 Assault

R&B heartthrob Chris Brown has been arrested in England after being accused of assaulting someone at a London nightclub in 2023.

According to The Sun, the singer was apprehended at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester after 2 a.m. on May 15.

Brown is being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw. The incident allegedly occurred around 3 a.m. at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, on February 19, 2023.

Diaw claims that the Virginia-born recording artist attacked him without cause, hitting him over the head with a bottle and then punching and kicking him as he was on the ground.

Brown was taken into custody for questioning.

‘’A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. “He has been taken into custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.

‘’The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.’’

Diaw told The Sun. “He hit me over the head twice or thrice. My knee collapsed as well.” He has filed a lawsuit against Brown for $16 million in damages for the injuries and losses he suffered.

Brown is in the United Kingdom for the expected start of the European leg of  the “Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour,”  which starts June 8 in Amsterdam. The tour features Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller. It is slated to return to the United States on July 30 in Miami and end on Sept. 20 in Las Vegas.
