Before leaving the Summit of the Americas, Obama summarized discussions he held with the presidents of Peru, Chile, Columbia, Haiti, and the prime minister of Canada. He said the summit opened up an opportunity for a frank dialogue about democracy and human rights throughout the hemisphere. He reiterated his commitment to combat drug cartels and the flow of guns between the Mexican and U.S. border.
