‘Django Unchained’ Breaks Box Office Record

The Quentin Tarantino movie, “Django Unchained,” has set a Christmas box office record for an R rated film.

The controversial movie was at the number two spot (Les Miserables finished first with $18 million) with $14 million, more than the Christmas day showing of “Ali,” reports TheHollywoodReporter.

The film stars Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington and is set pre-Civil War during the era of slavery in America.

Foxx plays a “slave turned bounty hunter” who “sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.”
