Dr. Dre Allegedly Suing Chinese Counterfeiters Over Beats Headphones

If we know nothing else about Dr. Dre, we know that he’s a man that’s serious about his money.

Earlier this year when news broke that Apple was buying Beats by Dre for $3 billion, the Compton, Calif., native instantly shot to the top of Forbes’ Wealthiest Hip-Hop artist list, with a net worth of $800 million.

Now, Dr. Dre is on a mission to put a halt to all counterfeit, Chinese-made headphones being sold to the consumer market. According to TMZ, Dre is claiming in a lawsuit that a group of unnamed websites based in China are getting rich off selling cheap counterfeit headphones, with his same red “b” logo inked on the sides.

If Dre and his company win the lawsuit and collect all profits from the fake headphones, which have reportedly raked in more that $135 billion in revenue, the 49-year-old media mogul might officially earn his stripes into the billionaire’s club.
