With today’s announcement of theirÂ 500th restaurant located inÂ the Times Square area ofÂ Manhattan, Dunkin’ Donuts remains the largest national retailer,Â in terms of locations.
Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is a market leader in the hot regular/decaf/flavored coffee, iced coffee, donut, bagel and muffin categories. The company has more than 10,500 restaurants in 31 countries worldwide. For the full-year 2012, Dunkin’ Donuts’ restaurants had global franchisee-reported sales of approximatelyÂ $6.9 billion.
This latest store openingÂ will be a combination restaurant withÂ Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops.Â Rich GreensteinÂ andÂ Howard NovickÂ are the franchise partners for this combination Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins location, and currently operate 22 Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins restaurants in theÂ New York CityÂ metro area.
The new location featuresÂ digital menu displays,Â electrical outlets and bar top areas for smartphones and computers. Â The new restaurant will also offer free Wi-Fi Internet access for guests.
