Ebony Magazine Sold To Texas Firm, New Editor in Chief


Ebony magazine sold its properties to the Black-owned Clear View Group, a Texas firm, after 71 years in the publishing business.

Who’s In, Who’s Out

Ebony will keep Desiree Rogers, President Obama’s former social secretary, as CEO and Linda Rice Johnson, will become chairman emeritus of the new board.  Kierna Mayo is stepping down as Editor in Chief, and Kyra Kyles, former VP of Digital, will become the new Editor in Chief, with plans to expand Ebony’s digital platform as its main focus.
