FAMU College of Law Surpasses the State’s Average Bar Exam Pass Rate

For the second time, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College of Law has exceeded the state of Florida in the number of students who pass the bar exam.

On the July 2014 bar exam, FAMU law students achieved a pass rate of 73.6%, a few points higher than the state’s average 71.8% pass rate.

The recent results are FAMU’s highest July bar pass rates to date, falling second only to its highest first-time pass rate of 82.6% in February 2013.

“The latest results help to solidify the direction we have taken to establish ourselves as the law school of choice for a broad range of individuals seeking to make law their career,” said LeRoy Pernell, the College of Law Dean. “Our bar results continue to trend upward as a result of the strong curriculum and bar preparation programs we’ve implemented, further illustrating that the FAMU College of Law is a law school on the rise.”

In addition to a stellar performance on the bar exam, FAMU College of Law has also seen a 16% increase in its number of applicants for the 2014-2015 academic school year.
