Fingerprint-Recognition Cellphones in the Works

A Japanese electronics maker plans to introduce mobile phones with fingerprint sensors in the third quarter of this year.

The sensor identifies a person’s unique fingerprint and is designed to prevent unauthorized access to devices, much like a password.

Apple is working on implementing the technology, too.
