George Zimmerman’s Murder Trial Begins

More than a year later and after failed attempts by the defense to delay it, George Zimmerman’s murder trial has begun in Florida.

Zimmerman on Monday got a look at some of the potential jurors who will decide whether he committed second-degree murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last February, the Associated Press reports.

A group of 100 potential jurors filled out questionnaires about their ability to serve on the jury. The defense and prosecution are looking for six objective members and four alternates. The selection process is expected to take all week.

Judge Debra Nelson rejected a defense request to sequester the 500 potential jurors from lens of the media, but she will allow those selected to remain anonymous.
